2013: Dim Sum Pop Up @ Magneet

Two weeks was the time frame and no use of virgin materials our intention when building a Dim Sum pop-up for Magneet Festvival in Amsterdam. This meant recycling ‘waste’ materials, but let’s call it our treasures. In one week we collected a bunch of beautiful big art transport boxes (they actually came from the country of the dim sum, China), an eight meter sailing boat, stage lights, tons of wood from the streets of Amsterdam and much more. In one more week we created the pop-up restaurant. It resulted in a landscape of wooden framed art boxes with sails from the sailboat for roofs. After the project the sails will become bags (check out www.dezeilerij.com if you’re interested) and the boxes and other materials will get a third life: check out Tuinzicht Lichtenberg

With special thanks to Canvas International Art, De Zijlerei & the generous people of Amsterdam
